More paintings on the 8×8 inch panels. The reds and whites combine well.
I wrote below how I handle sizes, the size of the subject versus the painting size.
FL15 Floral Still Life Painting
“Reds and White”
Roos Schuring, gouache/board, • Size: 15.2 x 15.2 cm | 6″ x 6″
• Size in Frame: 31.5 x 31.5 cm | 12.4″ x 12.4″
I could finish the painting just before dark.
Small paintings are not necessarily easier.
It’s good to adjust your ‘setting’ or subject to the size of the canvas or vice versa.
I like to paint the subject at 110% most often. (Not painting miniatures: not a full bouquet on a small size panel, but I paint the flowers ‘real size’ or slightly bigger than real size.)
