Painting Red Roses.
I continued the red roses in oil painting streak, in the kitchen, here 3 roses.
I wanted to create a greyer background but felt to increase the light of the roses a bit of brown would suit it well.
Very often during painting, I’ll try different background approaches.
And then there’s also the possibility of shifting the colors left to right.
I like the ‘horizon’ line in this one, it gives the painting a ‘van Goghish’ touch, not to be tooting my own horn, just to say, even ‘a style’ can vary, day to day, season to season, it has much to do with disposition. Perhaps this is often even something we can’t control, shouldn’t want to control.
The magic of painting!
