Seascape Plein air Shoreline and Backlight

Seascape Plein air: “Shoreline and Backlight in Summer”

Proud of this one. When my kids would be on this one, I wouldn’t have sold it : – )

When I paint these ‘pastel’ backlit paintings, I think about the Russians. And yes they often like it, I can see on Facebook. About the Russians: it’s great to see these painters like the same thing I like. The swift and loose – yet the realistic light effects, realistic forms. Some ‘critics’ say they like ‘my impressionistic stuff’ better than ‘this expressionistic stuff‘, however, I love to Transform, to ride the ‘uncertain’ wave of ‘self-development’. The Artist him/herself has no real say in this. I think, I know. Wherever the future will take us. Let it go, let it flow. Devine inspiration.

I was in Russia for 3 weeks in May this year. (that’s were all my money went for the moment – take bus. classes later tho’) I have admired Russian art to the point it’s both inspiring and crazy making. Your work is it’s own but yes very bold and friendly to the Ru. painters. Your writing is exciting and inspiring Roos… like your paintings!! (so glad I have one!!!!)

You are so kind Susette. Great you were bold enough to go into Russia. ;) Yes we cannot but follow the inner directions, wherever that leads us, in which style we will devellop, and these things. We often have visions the subconscious waiting for us to make these a reality :) following these leads to happiness. Every painter should listen to that inner voice and toss away all books :) ;) but true!
