Light, Clouds, Horse
If it’s there for me to see it, I will probably try to paint the line of light. On days with quick moving clouds it’s there. Shade and light move across the wide spaceous beach. Truely beautiful.
See how painting out of doors can be about putting experiences into paint. Feelings. Therefore I call it Impressionism. It’s the impression of the quick passing ‘moment’. Colors shift, light and contrasts move. In order not to ‘chase’ the moment, it’s good to stand still, watch, think about what ‘essence’ you would want to portray.

Roos how do you attach the canvas or board to your easel? How do you keep it tight when the wind blows?
Amy
Hi Amy, I staple it to cardboard! You can learn my entire way of working in either of the DVD How-to Series, for example Seascape Beginner or Clouds, those are here: https://www.youareamasterpainter.com/
This is not just a “Blue Sky + White Clouds” boring formulae. The skillful complexities of the colors and shapes are just wonderful in this painting. Your skies are ALIVE!!!
Beautiful fresh painting Roos. Colors are beautiful! I love to see pink in the clouds when I paint. What is your pink – quinacridone? I miss Holland at this time, will come in July, but alas no workshop with you. Marietje
Yes Marietje, I’m on holiday too then :) Why not come in Autumn :) Much more beautiful!
