Pleinair Sunrise in Autumn
As the sun shifts from left to right my horizons change in the paintings. Still hoping to paint a few with either frost on the grass or rather actual snow. You can’t imagine how great it is for a painter to (finally) skip the green and replace it for another, in case of snow, a blueish, or purplish grey. Ya!
Yes the Sunrise should be painted pleinair. I think it’s the only way to do it justice. I couldn’t do it from a photo, colors from a photo are most of the times incorrect. If you haven’t studied what those colors should be how could you even ‘calibrate’ the photo. Anyway, it’s far easier to go out there, the info you need to paint its truest form is right there!
