Are you a fusser too; )
This was painted in Spring, the cows were out again, great Spring skies full of variation and movement.
Maybe you can see it, this is late afternoon light, almost evening here. It’s painted pretty wild, or there’s an energetic side to this painting.
Some think I just ‘brush away’ whereas I really am a big ‘fusser’, I do scrutinize every mark until satisfied. That’s why the ‘left brain, right brain’ differentiation in painting theory is pretty pointless I think. We use our whole being. Senses and intelligence. Impression and Experiences. We use past experiences and present flow. In outdoor painting your ‘flow’ can be more powerfully present and this will help you to create something lively.
Last year around this time I was finalizing my book ‘PleinairMastery – Painting in Flow of the Moment’. It’s a big celebration of/dedication to outdoor painting, plus it’s about the painting theory I stand behind, my core of all I teach, about Light, Color, Brushwork.
